The Community Spirit lives On
Warrenby Reunion 2003 turned out to be a huge success as anticipated.
Held in the concert room at Redcar Royal British Legion, the room was full to capacity, and the atmosphere was wonderful,
Full of wonder ,nostalgia, and warmth.
People were arriving early as it had become obvious some time ago that there was a lot of interest, and people were arranging holidays to coincide with the arranged date,Trisha Close came from the South of France, and Glennis Alexander Adams arrived from Canada. Many more were travelling long distances to be here, from as far away as Halifax,Tynside,& Castleford. knowing this added to the excitment, and as it got closer some booked mini buses from surrounding areas, as there is a strong community spirit in the estates were many were rehoused from Warrenby.
All this feedback was good news for the organisers - Linda Close, Kath Bellerby, and Kath Lambert, [maiden names] they got into action to make this the memorable evening that it was.
The ladies organised raffles, football card games, and a couple of games of bingo, all with excellent prize money,
£50 was donated to the Breast Cancer appeal, and £10 was given to the Poppy appeal.
The eldest gentleman Jack Lambert aged 84 years received a gift, Jack was at one time a popular Steward of the Dormans Warrenby Athletic Club.
The eldest lady there was Mrs Morris who received a lovely bouquet.
We were entertained by a professional singer
who also acted as master of ceremonies, and to my surprise I was called to receive a beautiful bouquet, and a certificate of thanks in appreciation of my web site, The Marsh ! Coatham to Warrenby. This moment will stay with me always, I knew that Warrenby people were special to each other, but at that moment I personally experienced the warmth. Thank you!
On behalf of everyone who attended the Reunion
We Thank you ! Kath, Linda & Kath for what proved
to be a lovely, and unique occasion.

| Above is an article from the Evening Gazette 23 November 2003
Dec 2003
Everyone has loved the Photo shows, and thought them very nostalgic, and wanted to identify old friends and neighbours, many of whom they hadn't seen for maybe thirty years or more.
I decided to put copies of all the photos from the photo shows onto the site, with as many names as I could find,
I had a word with contributers, about the best way to do this, and it was agreed that although they are all married it would be more appropriate for Warrenby ladies to be named for this particular topic by their maiden names.
