Jim

Edward James Ayton (Jim) and wife Emily (nee Ankers). Jim was born in Eston, California in 1907.
He played the drums in Tom Smith's Harmonica Band, and he and his brother, Ben, made a radio appearance,
according to his sister, Victoria the family had to take turns with the headphones on the old crystal set.
The band also appeared at the Dorchester Hotel and times were hard, pillowcases were used to make cumberbunds.

He also drove for Welford's the bakers in Redcar and played in some of the clubs in the area.

They had four children and lived in Hutton Grove, Dormanstown.
