Fishermans Crossing

The railway came in 1846, running alongside the golf links and Warrenby.

The crossing from Warrenby to the South Gare.

In 1911, human bones were discovered during a dig on the golf links adjacent to the fisherman’s crossing, their age was never identified and they were re-interned in Coatham Churchyard by Rev W.R.Rayson.

Signalmen

Bob Sturmen was signalman for many years including the 1940s other signalmen were
Fred Hinds, and Clem ?

Hello Sheila, I'm almost sure Stuart Robinsons (pictured in special occasions, warrenby boys 1963) father worked in the signal box, as I remember when the coal train turned over and all the coal went down the golfcourse bank when it got dark me and John Morris got the seacoal sacks out, went over the lines and helped ourselves, and on the last run I tripped over the buzzer line and out he came with his torch and chased us.
